Do you want to make some cute little penguins and don’t own a cutter? I actually have two penguin cutters but wanted to make a fun variety of cute penguins for a class celebrating Penguin Day at school. I dug through my cutters and came up with some easy ideas for re-purposing random cutters into cute little penguins. Thanks for stopping by!
I made these cookies for a dear friend who I have known since Jr. High. She asked me to create some cookies for her future daughter in law’s bridal shower. She loved a set of burlap and lace cookies I had done before but the brides colors were in yellow and grey. Here is my thought process from sketching designs to finished cookies.
I really enjoyed decorating all my Christmas cookies in soft pastel colors this year. I was so glad not to have to mix up dark red and greens this Christmas. Here is my Christmas cookie roundup for 2013! Thank you to Glory of www.glorioustreats.com for her cute snowman face tutorial using an ornament cutter. He ended up being one of my favorite cookies.
I made gingerbread cookies in bright fun colors for my Bunco group. My friend Wendi was the hostess this month and she decorated our Bunco party with the cutest gingerbread decor. There were gingerbread things everywhere! I just had to share some of the cuteness at her house along with my cookies.
In addition to gingerbread cookie boys and girls I made candy shaped cookies in Snickerdoodles flavor with caramel icing. Everyone gave this new recipe from my friend Nicole of Sweet Temptations by Nicole a big thumbs up. She was so sweet she even sent me the caramel extract from Texas since I could not find it in Southern California.
I loved making these cookies for a bridal shower. The theme was burlap and lace with touches of coral and mint
I got to use Sugarveil icing for the lace cookies for the first time and practice my quilting and quatrefoil piping as well as airbrushing. All in all a very fun set where I had complete creative freedom
I had fun making these baking and kitchen themed shower cookies for a bride to be. I got to use some fun new cutters (thank you Diana of www.facebook.com/The-Cookie-Princess and try out some new techniques I learned recently at an Advanced Cookie Bootcamp class taught by Angela of (http://ohsugareventplanning.blogspot.com/ I also fell in love with some new colors I had in my color stash but had never used before… I think Copper and Terracotta are my new favorite colors for Fall cookies.
Part of the fun of designing a new set is sketching out ideas. I went to Target’s Back to School section and proudly bought new crayons and fun new twistable colored pencils that never need sharpening. I felt like a kid shopping for new supplies! I got to work tracing my cutters and sketching ideas. You can see the final cookies evolved a little differently but you get the idea.
Thank you to Callye of www.sweetsugarbelle.com for her awesome set of baking cookies here http://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/2013/03/baking-theme-cookies/that gave me ideas for repurposing cutters to use.
These Candyland themed cookies were so fun to make! I love all the bright and happy colors and recreating cookies to look like candy was a perfect order for a candy lover like myself.
The birthday girl Abigail had such a fun party. Her backyard was transformed in amusement park with bounce houses, a water slide, a dunk tank, things to climb on, crafts to make and a huge candy bar that looked like a candy store. The party included a taco bar, popcorn, snowcones, make your own candy straws, cotton candy, cupcakes with giant gumballs on top and a beautiful Candyland birthday cake for the birthday girl who was turning 5.
Thanks for letting me share in your fun day!
A couple months ago the film crew from Animal Planet’s Too Cute TV show came to my home to film an episode for their fall season featuring a litter of adorable longhair Chihuahuas that belong to my friend Teresa (www.teresaschihuahuas.com). I made some fun dog and cat cookies for the film crew to enjoy while filming. The producers ended up ordering up boxes of cookies for their clients as thank you gifts. Here are some of the designs I did for them.
I created some special cookie favors for a farm themed party. The adorable birthday boy Karson was turning 2 and his party included a petting zoo and farm animals. The decor centered around hay bales, bandanas prints, and burlap. I got inspiration from Sugarbelle (www.sweetsugarbelle.com) for the bandanna print cookies and used a cowprint stencil from Salsa Sweets new stencil line. (www.facebook.com/SalsaSweets). I found the wired burlap ribbon at Hobby Lobby.
