I made these cookies to match party goods for a little boys 1st birthday. It was a police theme party in bright primary colors.. The paper goods by Allison Powell designs were used for inspiration for the cookies.
My sweet friend Lisa was throwing a shabby chic theme baby shower for her daughter Tyler and I loved making these cookies to match. The colors were so pretty to work with. I used her shower invitation and decorations in shades of aqua, pink, and light coral to match the icing colors . The pregnant belly cookies were inspired by Sweet Dough. Swirl roses inspired from Sugarbelle’s tutorial. Thank You!
I have a lot of cookie ideas in my head and when I get a request for a certain theme the creative wheels start spinning in my head.
First, I sketch out an idea by tracing the cutter shapes on plain white card stock. Then I get to work with my crayons and colored pencils. I used to love to color when I was a kid! I even strolled though the Back to School aisle at Target for new pastel crayons in yummy colors.
Once I decide on my designs it’s a lot easier to plan out icing colors by looking at my drawings.
My daughter Michelle flies for Virgin America. Next week the airline celebrates 5 years of service. To celebrate their anniversary Virgin America has issued all new uniforms for employees. Michelle is so excited to wear the beautiful new pieces I had to make them in cookie form to share with her fellow crew members and supervisors.
You can view photos of the actual uniforms here.
