My sweet cookie friend Anne Yorks of the amazing Flour Box Bakery (http://www.flourboxbakery.com/) headed up a group cookie project for Presidents Day. We each took a president and made a cookie to represent him. She worked really hard at turning the whole thing into a beautiful collage to share with you today… Check it out here, http://www.flourboxbakery.com/blogs/tidbits/7350066-if-history-was-taught-in-cookies-presidents-day there are lots of talented cookiers and I was honored to be a part of this fun project!
My President was Franklin Pierce, he was our 14th President and served one term from 1853-1857. He signed the Kansas-Nebraska Act while in office. He had three sons that all died before the age of 12. His youngest son died in a train accident on the way to his innauguration and to cheer up his wife he had a Christmas tree put up in the White House for her and this tradition of a Christmas tree in the White House continues to this day. Franklin Pierce only served one term.

Love, love this project. –Katy
